Future Seas uses ‘foresighting’ to develop interdisciplinary, evidence-informed, plausible scenarios of the future by 2030. The scenarios focus on each of 12 key challenges facing the oceans.

The scenarios include what the future would look like if current trends continue, and also what our future could look like if we effectively used the knowledge currently available to us to push as far as possible towards achieving the SDGs. We then generate a tangible plan for possible local, regional, and global-scale actions that society could undertake if it chose to work towards the future more aligned with the UN SDGs.

The scenarios were made in: 2019

The scenarios look out to: 2030
