Using local initiatives to envision sustainable and resilient food systems in the Stockholm city-region

We explored transformation towards more sustainable and resilient food systems in the Stockholm city-region in Sweden. The approach we used is based on the “Seeds of the Good Anthropocene” scenario methodology. Through a workshop and a survey with a diverse set of regional actors, we developed a vision of a positive food future that is radically different from the current situation and identified conflicts and opportunities for moving towards it.

The goal was to articulate positive food futures for the Stockholm-Mälaren region, to connect innovative local initiatives working with sustainable food in different ways with each other, and to start formulating narratives together that could facilitate change towards sustainable food systems in the region.

The workshop succeeded in creating new connections among the different food actors present.’
